1:51Bruce, good morning.
1:52KD0EQK.
1:53Good to have you with us, Bruce.
1:55Appreciate you being there.
1:56I was looking at the wrong line item here on my check-in sheet.
2:01All right.
2:01So we got Bruce, KD0EQK checked in from the Utah SDR.
2:08All right.
2:08Any other check-ins, please come out.
2:09Yeah, Alpha India 7, Quebec, Quebec.
2:14Okay, Dave, Alpha India 7, Quebec, Quebec.
2:17How's the prison ministry going these days, Dave?
2:20Go ahead.
2:21Yeah, you know, real good.
2:23I'm no longer in the prison.
2:25We just do the juvenile facility now.
2:27And some good news there.
2:29We had a young man who graduated the program and went into a halfway house.
2:34He's been coming to church with us every Sunday and even making his efforts.
2:39He couldn't be there.
2:40And brought one of his buddies from the halfway house.
2:43He got saved, too.
2:44So there's both of them attending now.
2:47He's going to be moving into his own apartment here next week.
2:50And he's been kind of getting set up for that.
2:54But, yeah, it's been going good.
2:55He's doing really good.
2:56His name is Noah.
2:57Keep him in your prayers.
2:58Great guy.
3:00And 18 years old.
3:02He got out one time and went back to his family and ended up back in prison,
3:06a juvenile prison.
3:07But then he came.
3:07He got out again.
3:08And this time he's staying in this area, the Boise area.
3:11And he is doing the program and staying in church and got a job and doing really well.
3:20Praise the Lord for that.
3:22What a great report.
3:23So I appreciate your working with the juveniles there.
3:25That's the time to turn kids around for sure.
3:28Can you spell his name phonetically for us, please?
3:31Over.
3:32Like the Bible.
3:34Noah.
3:34November Ocean.
3:37I'll say Henry.
3:40Okay.
3:40Copy that.
3:41So, Noah.
3:42All right.
3:42Got that.
3:44Yeah.
3:44N-O-A-H.
3:45November Oscar Alpha Hotel.
3:48Good.
3:48Thank you for that.
3:49Appreciate that a lot, Dave.
3:51Appreciate your ministry there.
3:53Okay.
3:53We'll pray for Noah that God continues to keep him squared away and integrate it back into society
3:59and grows in his faith in the Lord.
4:03All right.
4:04Real good, Dave.
4:04Thanks for that report.
4:06All right.

4:07Looking for check-ins.
4:08Any more check-ins?
4:09Please come down.
4:10Also, we'll be able to get this to your call.

4:18Good to hear you, Lee.
4:19How are you doing?
4:20Oh, man.
4:21Oh, good.
4:22I'm good.
4:24Still on the carburetor.
4:27Lee, if I could be.
4:27If I could be.
4:27If I could be.
4:27If I could be.
4:30Over.
4:32Yeah.
4:33Copy that.
4:34So, you're still working on the carburetor and trying to get that fixed.
4:37Is that correct?
4:38Over.
4:38But, yeah.
4:39But, yeah.
4:39I'm going to get it in my leisure.
4:42I haven't gotten around to it yet, but it's on my list, too.
4:47Thank you.
4:51All right.
4:51Copy that.
4:52Okay.
4:53So, still working on the carburetor, Lee.
4:54Good to have you with us.
4:55Thank you for checking in.
4:57All right.
4:57Any other check-ins?
4:58Please come down.
4:59Anybody around?
5:23WB-7, Visa, no.
5:24Actually, there's more than one person around, Roger.
5:29Good to have you.
5:30How are you doing?
5:32Well, I just got down here.
5:35You're sounding pretty good.
5:39Yeah, you're sounding good, too.
5:41I'm hearing you on the Utah, and you sound great.
5:44Yeah, I'm transmitting from Jeff's AK-6OK station in Rockland, California.
5:51I'm throwing out megawatts of power.
5:55Roger, good signal this morning, and good to have you with us.
5:58Any prayer requests?
5:59Over.
6:04Well, I guess I would certainly, as I prayed, I certainly need the Holy Spirit
6:12knowledge, and a definite God-guided will, and, you know, obviously the guidance of the
6:24Lord as we study.
6:25Over.
6:25Yeah, copy that.
6:31Okay, real good.
6:33All right.
6:33So I'm checking in Gene, K7GWR.
6:36Good morning, Gene.
6:37Good to have you with us.
6:38And I trust that things are going well for you.
6:41Just got your text message.
6:43Don't see you there on the Utah SDR, but trust that you are there.
6:48All right, that's Gene, K7GWR.
6:51Checked in by way of text message.
6:54All right.
6:55Any other check-ins this morning?
6:56Please come down.
6:59Max, this is K7ES.
7:02Gene is at the very bottom of that screen there on the Utah SDR.
7:08He's at the very bottom.
7:09Okay, copy that.
7:19Thank you.
7:20I'm on a separate.
7:20Okay, yeah, I see that sometimes that black screen gets so large that it disappears below
7:48the bottom of the screen, and I don't pick people up, but Gene, K7GWR, got you checked in,
7:54see you there on the Utah, also thanks for the text message, and yeah, we'll go from there.
7:59All right, WV7MX, looking for any last-minute check-ins of West Coast quality study, please come out.
8:18Okay, I think I've got my buttons all squared away and back to operating condition.
8:36WV7MX, we are in Psalm 97.
8:39We're going to go ahead and get started with the West Coast Bible study.
8:42Hopefully, we've gotten everyone checked in, and we haven't lost anyone in the process of me fiddling with things here.
8:51All right, we're in Psalm 97 today.
8:54Before we get started with Psalm 97, we're going to open our Bible study in prayer,
8:59and so Ed, N6XOH, if you could open prayer for us this morning, that'd be great.
9:03Go ahead, Ed.
9:05Sure, let us pray.
9:07Dear Heavenly Father, we just come to you this morning.
9:09We ask that you bless our Bible study, that you'll watch over each person here.
9:16We just ask that your Holy Spirit will descend upon each person that's here listening,
9:22the ones that are listening, the ones that are participating, Lord.
9:25And I just ask that you open our eyes, our hearts, and our minds,
9:30that we can learn more from you through these scriptures.
9:34Lord, I just ask the blessing on Pastor Max as he leads out in our Bible study.
9:41And I just ask that you watch over him, Lord.
9:44Bless his ministry as he's back east there studying with other people.
9:51I just ask, Lord, that you touch their hearts,
9:55that they'll get a blessing from Pastor Max being there.
9:59Watch over him, Lord.
10:01Give him travel mercies, and that you bring him home safe to us.
10:04Watch over each and every one of us, Lord.
10:06The biggest thing is to ask, Lord, that we'll all be ready when you come to take us home.
10:13I pray in Jesus' name.
10:15Amen.
10:16N-6-X-O-H.
10:19All right, Ed.
10:20N-6-X-O-H.
10:21Thank you so much for that prayer.
10:23All right.
10:23We're in Psalm 97 today, and yesterday you saw that Psalm 96, which you studied together,
10:32the emphasis there was on the everlasting worship of God.
10:37In Psalm 96 and in verse 4, it says,
10:41The Lord is great and greatly to be praised.
10:44And then, of course, in verse 8, it says,
10:48Give unto the Lord the glory due his name.
10:51Verse 9, O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.
10:56And so, Psalm 96 yesterday closed with a declaration of the coming judgment of God when he returns.
11:02Verse 13,
11:04Before the Lord, for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth.
11:09So, but today we're in Psalm 97, the next psalm.
11:14And this psalm takes up the theme of judgment of the Lord when he comes,
11:20and it develops and expands that at length.
11:24Now, in the previous psalm, in Psalm 96, there was an emphasis on the salvation that God brings.
11:31As you recall, you recall verse 2,
11:33Sing unto the Lord, bless his name, show forth his salvation from day to day.
11:39But in this psalm, in Psalm 97 we're studying today,
11:43there's an emphasis on God destroying his enemies and delivering his people from them.
11:49So, in Psalm 96, which we looked at yesterday,
11:53we saw his salvation and his worship.
11:57But in Psalm 97, which we're looking at today,
12:01we see his judgment and his destruction of evil.
12:07So, both salvation, Psalm 96, and judgment, Psalm 97,
12:13both the vindication of the righteous and the condemnation of the wicked
12:16are the work of the Lord who reigns.
12:24I think he's linked, Phil, of course.
12:27We just lost you, Pastor Max.
12:39Your link fell apart.
12:40He's running remote for Jeff's machine over there in Rockland.
13:08And I think his link fell apart.
13:14Somebody text him and let him know.
13:18Jeff's probably already on it.
13:22I'll check on 440.
13:24Okay, I think he got it figured out.
13:34He had the maestro locked up over here, so I couldn't mention it.
13:39Let's see if he gets it fixed here.
13:418K-6 is okay.
13:458K-6 is okay.
13:46I hear you now.
13:47I'm not sure exactly what happened and why it dropped out.
13:50Over.
13:54I don't know what the transmit was stuck on.
13:57I did that.
13:57Okay, all right.
14:01So what was the last thing you heard that I said?
14:04Over.
14:07Go ahead, guys.
14:08I was in the other room.
14:09I'm not sure.
14:09You're talking about the judgment that was poured out in the righteous rejoicing.
14:20Yeah, okay.
14:21It may have been that, you know, my Internet connection dropped out or whatever.
14:26Okay, anyway, the bottom line is that Psalm 96 talks about salvation.
14:34Psalm 97 talks about the judgment of God.
14:36And so Psalm 97, verse 1 says,
14:40The Lord reigns, let the earth rejoice.
14:42And Psalm 99, verse 1 says,
14:45The Lord reigns, let the people tremble.
14:47So the idea here, okay, that I'm trying to bring out is that Psalm 96 is about salvation.
14:52Psalm 97 is about judgment.
14:55Both of those come as a result of God reigning.
14:58So whether you rejoice or tremble at the Lord's rule,
15:01it depends upon whether you are his friend or his enemy.
15:04And the fact that the Lord reigns means that every wicked person is going to be condemned
15:11and every righteous person is going to be vindicated.
15:15No one's going to be able to escape that judgment and no one's going to be able to withstand it.
15:20So the knowledge that the Lord reigns fills us with confidence and security and joy and thankfulness,
15:26and it fills the wicked with terror and dread and anxiety.
15:30So anyway, the theme of Psalm 97 is that the Lord reigns, the Lord is going to judge.
15:36Psalm 96, the Lord reigns, the Lord is going to save.
15:39And it depends upon which side of God we're on as to which of those we receive.
15:44All right, let's go ahead and read Psalm 97.
15:46And Eric KD70 asks, if you could read for us, I'd appreciate that.
15:51Go ahead.
15:55Yeah, thank you, Pastor Max.
15:57And good morning to everybody on the net.
15:59Reading from the New King James Version, Psalm 97.
16:05The Lord reigns, let the earth rejoice.
16:10Let the multitude of isles be glad.
16:14Clouds and darkness surround him.
16:17Righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.
16:22A fire goes before him and burns up his enemies round about.
16:28His lightnings light the world.
16:30The earth sees and trembles.
16:32The mountains melt like a wax at the presence of the Lord.
16:38At the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.
16:43The heavens declare his righteousness and all the peoples see his glory.
16:49Let all be put to shame who serve carved images, who boast of idols.
16:57Worship him, all you gods.
16:59Zion hears and is glad.
17:03And the daughters of Judah rejoice because of your judgments, O Lord.
17:08For you, Lord, are most high above all the earth.
17:13You are exalted far above all gods.
17:16You who love the Lord, hate evil.
17:21He preserves the soul of his saints.
17:24He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.
17:28Light is sown for the righteous and gladness for the upright in heart.
17:33Rejoice in the Lord, you righteous.
17:36And give thanks at the remembrance of his holy name.
17:40And that's Psalm 97.
17:45Eric, KD7ES, thank you so much for that reading.
17:48All right.
17:48Any comments on Psalm 97?
17:50Please come now to your call sign.
17:55KB7, ZXN.
17:58Kevin, KB7, ZXN.
18:00Please go ahead.
18:00Well, just to start out here a little bit, you know, these are some psalms that we've been reading.
18:11In Book 4 of the psalms that Mark brings out from time to time have different representations.
18:18And Book 4 kind of is an answer to Book 3's crisis.
18:25And Psalm 93, 95, 6, 7, 98, 99 all really are self-revelation of God, if you will.
18:36And one of those theological understandings of God and his throne is the storms around.
18:44We see that in Exodus 19, I think, 15 through 18.
18:51Leviticus 1, verse 4.
18:55And Exodus 1, 4.
19:00And elsewhere, but anyway, but not only is this kind of a self-revelation, if you will, of God's divine nature,
19:10but it really speaks to his character here, as you pointed out, Max, some of the character qualities of God,
19:17both being just and now being righteous here, too.
19:21And, you know, we see that picture of his throne surrounded, you know, by these mighty storms, if you will.
19:31Job is the other place to visit, Job 38 there.
19:35So we see this picture here of these storms, but at the same time, it's really here deeper than that
19:45in speaking to the character of God, KB 7, etc.
19:51Yeah, Kevin, great comment there.
19:55You know, notice verse 3.
19:58It talks about God, and Kevin was commenting on this.
20:03The fire goes before him and burns up his enemies round about.
20:07That's verse 3.
20:09Now, verse 4.
20:10His lightnings enlightened the world, the earth saw and trembled.
20:13Verse 5.
20:14The hills melted like wax at the presence of the Lord.
20:18So what you've got here is you've got the image of fire, okay?
20:23No one's able to stand up before fire.
20:25If someone comes and hits you with a flamethrower, you're going down.
20:30And then verse 4, lightning.
20:32Imagine getting hit by a lightning bolt.
20:34You're not going to stand up to that either.
20:36You're going to go down.
20:38And then verse 5.
20:39The hills melted like wax at the presence of the Lord.
20:43That's talking about a volcano, okay?
20:45And so you've got the flamethrower, you've got the bolt of lightning, you've got the volcano.
20:51Nobody stands up to those things.
20:53Nobody says, oh, I'm tough.
20:56I can endure, you know, a flamethrower or a lightning bolt or a volcanic explosion, right?
21:03And that just talks about the irresistibility of God's judgment
21:08and how, as Kevin said, this is a revelation of God.
21:12And, you know, when you think about his wrath and the power of his wrath,
21:18that's something to tremble before.
21:21That's something to be afraid of.
21:23And the enemies of God do well to take note that in the end,
21:28no one's going to stand up to God's judgment because, you know,
21:32the illustrations that are used here are finite.
21:36You know, you think about fire.
21:37You think about a lightning bolt.
21:39You think about a volcano, whatever those things are and however powerful they are,
21:43they're finite.
21:45But God's wrath is infinite.
21:47And if we can't stand up before these natural disasters, you know,
21:52like a forest fire or a bolt of lightning or a volcanic explosion,
21:56how much less are people going to be able to stand up before God and argue with him?
22:02So, Kevin, thanks for pointing out the nature of God's wrath there.
22:05Appreciate that.
22:06All right.
22:06Any other comments?
22:07Please come now.
22:09KM5F.
22:11Will, KM5F, please go ahead.
22:13Yeah, since we're talking about the images and pictures,
22:17in verse 7, the thing that popped in my head was a picture of all these carved images,
22:22the rocks and those made out of wood,
22:25that will worship him and bow down to him.
22:29And can you see these wooden images bowing and these rock gods bowing to God?
22:38Can you amplify this?
22:39Yeah, amen.
22:42And, of course, all those carved images, whether they're made out of stone or whether they're made out of brass or silver or gold,
22:49or whether they're made out of wood, all of those things are going to be burned up under the wrath of God,
22:55and all of them are going to melt down and humble themselves before God under his judgment.
23:00So, yeah, even the false gods can't stand up to the true and living God when he brings his judgments.
23:08Will, KM5F, great comment.
23:11All right.
23:11Any other comments?
23:12Please come now.
23:13ZXN.
23:16Kevin KB7, ZXN.
23:18Go ahead.
23:19Well, it did with verse 7 there.
23:21I think it's what you just talked about, the will.
23:23That's part of that also is directly connected to Hebrews 1, 6, I believe it is,
23:31where all will worship him.
23:37Yeah, let me turn to that just a second here and see.
23:40Hebrews chapter 1 and verse 6, it says.
23:471 verse 6.
23:48And again, when he brings his first begotten into the world, he saith,
23:53and let all the angels of God worship him.
23:56Yeah, great passage.
23:58Good connection there, Kevin.
24:00If the angels are to worship the Lord Jesus Christ, then how much more these false gods?
24:07And, you know, any God that's made by man isn't any more powerful than the man who made him.
24:15And that's the folly is really when people are worshiping idols,
24:18they're really worshiping themselves and their own ideas of what God should be like
24:23and their own creation of God.
24:25And so these gods can do no more for them than they can do for themselves
24:30because they created those gods.
24:33And the wonderful thing about our God is that no one created him.
24:37He's self-existent.
24:39And therefore, he's infinite and completely above all that any false god could ever hope to be.
24:47A good comment there, Kevin.
24:48Thanks for that.
24:49That's Hebrews 1 and verse 6.
24:51Any other comments?
24:52Please come down.
24:52WB-7, Vizadell.
25:05Launcher, please go ahead.
25:08Well, I'm thinking of when the greatest demonstration to Israel
25:18was similar to what we're talking about, the wrath of God.
25:23And I'm thinking about when the command to not have idols,
25:31as one put it recently,
25:33thou shalt have no other gadgets before me.
25:37That came about with a tremendous demonstration of the wrath of God, so to speak, for boundaries.
25:47And that I'm reading from Exodus 19.
25:51Now, the Mount Sinai was all in smoke because the Lord descended upon it in fire,
26:01and it smoked, ascended like the smoke of a furnace,
26:05and the whole mountain quaked violently.
26:08And then there's a trumpet sound, and then God answered him with thunder, as Moses experienced.
26:20And the Lord came down on Mount Sinai on the top of the mountain,
26:25and the Lord called Moses to the top of the mountain.
26:27And that was an incredible demonstration of setting the boundaries of what it is for holiness
26:38as he sets forth the first commandment that our psalm really highlights big time.
26:45I am the Lord your God.
26:47Of course, we don't want to forget the preamble, which is part of the law.
26:52And he says, I brought you out of slavery.
26:56And then verse 3 of Exodus 20, you shall have no other gods before me.
27:02So, you know, the setting in the Jewish mind, in the worshiping mind,
27:08is going back to this appearance initially to these slaves
27:15to let them know who is the creator.
27:20And, yes, the sanctuary was a miniature replication of that
27:27because the sanctuary also had boundaries.
27:33And only once a year could the throne of God be approached by the appropriate person
27:40that was sanctified and made holy by God's protection, so to speak,
27:48to face the throne of God in the most holy place.
27:51Anyway, some of those images come to mind.
27:56When I say images, the imaginations that Israel must have known
28:03as many of them had memorized the passages that we're covering in Exodus today,
28:12you know, that referring to the first commandment especially.
28:18This is WB7 of Isabel.
28:21Yeah, Roger, thank you for pointing out the issue of boundaries.
28:26You know, God is a God who is not to be approached just any old way
28:30and by any old person.
28:33You know, Exodus chapter 19, Exodus chapter 20, as you pointed out,
28:39with God saying to the people, look it, I'm holy, you're sinful,
28:44you don't just waltz up to me and throw your arm around my shoulder
28:47and pretend like we're buddies.
28:49Because you're sinful, you're under my wrath,
28:52you need to fear and tremble because of that,
28:55but you also need to have hope because I provided a means and a method
29:01and a way to approach me,
29:04and that is through the redemptive program and plan that I provided.
29:10And, of course, for the Jews, that was, you know, the temple,
29:14and it was the sacrifices, and it was the priesthood,
29:19and it was all of those things that were provided in the Old Covenant,
29:22which pointed to the coming Messiah, the seed of the woman
29:26that would crush the head of the serpent.
29:28And so, you know, and, of course, under the New Testament,
29:32we have our Lord Jesus Christ providing that sacrifice.
29:37And so the Old Testament saints would approach God through the promised Messiah.
29:42The New Covenant saints approach God through the provided Messiah.
29:47So they were looking forward to the promised Messiah.
29:50We're looking back on the provided Messiah.
29:52Both of us are recognizing that God opens a way to himself
29:58through his son, Jesus Christ.
30:02And if we don't come to him through that way,
30:04then all there is is boundaries, smoke and fire and judgment and wrath and trembling.
30:10And so we really see that in Exodus 19 and 20.
30:13As you said, it's a fearful thing, the Bible says,
30:17to fall into the hands of the living God unless we come to him through a repentance of sin and faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior.
30:27So, Roger, thank you for pointing out the fact that God is not to be approached except through his son.
30:34And Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life.
30:37No man comes to the Father but through me.
30:40And so the good news is that there is a way to God.
30:44And if we don't follow that way, then all we have is, as our psalm says,
30:49a forest fire, a lightning bolt, and an exploding volcano to look forward to.
30:57And that's kind of what was pictured on Mount Sinai, right?
30:59Smoke and fire and darkness, this is the wrath of God, personifying pictures in nature.
31:08And so we do well to flee from the wrath that come by slinging to Jesus,
31:12casting ourselves on him for salvation and for cleansing,
31:17and to present us faultless before the Father with exceeding joy.
31:22Roger, great comment.
31:23Thank you for that.
31:24All right, any other comments?
31:25Please come now.
31:29Kevin, KB7, ZXN.
31:35All right, we have a double there.
31:37Kevin, KB7, ZXN.
31:38You go first.
31:41Well, I'll be brief.
31:42And very good point, Max.
31:44And, Roger, thank you for that, too, on Exodus 19.
31:49You're exactly right.
31:50I was reflecting.
31:51There's some traditions and some historians that believe that
31:57Mount Sinai might be in northern Israel.
32:02Mount Shalalas, I think is how it's pronounced, Alma Mountain.
32:07But one of the mysteries of that is the top portion of the mountain is black.
32:14And they've not been able to find a natural explanation for that other than the great heat
32:23that had surrounded it at one time, so much so that there's a layer, a thin layer of everything,
32:32all the rock up there, and soil and what have you, that was exposed to so much heat that it basically turned it black.
32:44And it's still not seeable today.
32:47But anyway, yeah, the point is, though, as well expressed there,
32:53the righteousness and the judgment of God, and, you know, every knee shall bow one day before God.
33:02God is a just God.
33:04And that's one of the hopes that we have, because certainly, as we've seen in text before,
33:11and we've experienced it in our own life, justice is often not found here by any measure.
33:17But righteousness and justice surely is, certainly is found in our Lord and Savior.
33:27Yeah, well said, Kevin.
33:29Thank you for that.
33:31You know, the Bible says it's a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
33:36And, you know, this imagery and these geographical manifestations that you pointed out there, Kevin,
33:48are, you know, warnings to us to beware of and to tremble before the God of heaven.
33:56You know, in verse 1 it says,
33:58The Lord reigns, let the earth rejoice.
34:01And then in verse 4,
34:02His lightnings enlightened the world the earth saw and trembled.
34:05So the question is, is are we going to be rejoicing or are we going to be trembling?
34:11And that depends upon whether we trust in Jesus or our own righteousness for our acceptance with God.
34:18Okay, I think I heard KB7KTY's voice in there.
34:22Kathy, did you have a comment?
34:23Please come ahead.
34:26KB7KTY, yes.
34:28Verse 10 I really like.
34:30It says,
34:30He's above the Lord, hate evil.
34:32And then it says,
34:35He preserveth the souls of the saints.
34:37He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.
34:40And I think if people really love the Lord,
34:44they'll love each other and they will hate evil.
34:47I think too many times people choose the wrong enemy
34:51and the enemy needs to be the true evil.
34:58And I think that if we really love the Lord, we'll love each other.
35:02We will hate evil.
35:03And we won't compromise with evil.
35:05We won't want to make excuses for it.
35:08We won't defend the evil in any way whatsoever.
35:13We'll constantly defend God.
35:16We'll defend the righteous.
35:18And we'll prove that we're Christians by the way we love God
35:23and the way we love each other.
35:24Back to you.
35:25Amen.
35:29KB7KTY, thanks for that comment.
35:32Well said.
35:33You know, I appreciate you saying we're fighting with each other
35:38instead of fighting with the kingdom of darkness
35:41and with the evil that is out there.
35:45And, you know, you can't love someone without hating the thing
35:49that would destroy that which you love.
35:51If we love the Lord, well, evil is completely contrary to the Lord.
35:57You know, it would be like if you love your wife
35:59and someone's attacking your wife, you know,
36:02you have to hate the thing that's attacking the object of your love.
36:05And, of course, it's Satan and evil and Satan's evil people
36:10that are attacking the Lord.
36:12And while certainly, you know, we love all people
36:15because we want to see them saved,
36:18we don't love what they do
36:20and we don't love them as they are doing that evil
36:23to the one that we love.
36:26And so we have to understand that there's some complexity
36:30and some nuance in the way in which we view
36:33those that are attacking Christians
36:35and those that are attacking Christ.
36:37Do we want them to be saved?
36:39Absolutely, we do.
36:40Are they our buddies?
36:41Absolutely, they are not.
36:43And so we recognize that we want to see them brought
36:47out of the kingdom of darkness and into the kingdom of light.
36:50But I think your point, Kathy, is well taken
36:53that, you know, those who love the Lord,
36:56whatever problems they have, we need to love them
36:59and recognize these are not our enemies.
37:03These are not the folks we're supposed to be fighting with.
37:05And, you know, I see people who claim to love the Lord
37:08are fighting with each other
37:10and what a terrible testimony that is
37:12and what a wrong object that is to be working against.
37:16And we need to recognize that the people that are on our side,
37:20no matter the minor differences we may have with them,
37:23they are our friends.
37:24They love the same Lord we love.
37:26They love the same Jesus we love.
37:29And so, therefore, however they may annoy us,
37:31we still need to love them.
37:33It's the evil people that we need to be fighting against
37:37and seeking to defeat
37:40by either seeing God's judgment on them
37:43or by seeing them come into the kingdom of light as well.
37:48All right, great comment.
37:49Thank you for that.
37:50Any other comments on our passage, please come down.
37:53AI7QQ.
37:56AI7QQ.
37:58Go ahead there, Dave.
38:00Yeah, great conversation.
38:01I just was speaking as I'm listening.
38:03It's just how grateful I am for the grace of God
38:06and the blood of Jesus Christ.
38:07And, you know, he says there's no condemnation
38:10to those who are in Christ Jesus,
38:12who walk on earth from the flesh,
38:14that's the spirit.
38:14And as Kathy was saying,
38:17as she was talking about that,
38:19I was reading John 14, 18,
38:21where he said,
38:22I will not leave you orphans.
38:24I will come to you.
38:25A little while longer,
38:27the world will see me no more,
38:29but you will see me.
38:30Because I live,
38:31you will live also.
38:33At that day,
38:34you will know that I am my Father,
38:36and you will see me.
38:37I am you.
38:37He who has my commandments to teach them,
38:40it is he who loves me,
38:42and he who loves me will be loved by my Father,
38:45and I will love them,
38:47manifest myself to him.
38:54Yeah, great comment there, Dave.
38:56Appreciate that.
38:58And yeah,
38:58that's how we show our love for the Lord,
39:01is by keeping his commandments.
39:04And that's how we show love for the Lord,
39:06is hating that which is contrary to his commandments.
39:09When it says,
39:09you that love the Lord hate evil,
39:12the idea is that,
39:13you know,
39:15we need to hate disobedience to God's word.
39:18If we love God,
39:19we're going to keep his commandments,
39:21and he's going to love us.
39:23And so anything contrary to that
39:25falls outside the categories of love.
39:28Dave,
39:29appreciate you pointing that out.
39:30A great comment there.
39:32All right,
39:32any other comments?
39:33Please come out.
39:39Well,
39:40further,
39:40in John 8,
39:41or Romans 8,
39:42he says,
39:42nothing can separate us from the love of God,
39:45not even our own,
39:46not even ourselves.
39:47We can't separate ourselves.
39:51Yeah,
39:52amen.
39:52And so when it says,
39:53we're under no condemnation,
39:55you know,
39:56that's really good news.
39:57When you look at the power of God's condemnation,
39:59praise the Lord that we're not under his condemnation.
40:02And he says in Jeremiah,
40:04I think it's 31.3,
40:06I have loved you with an everlasting love,
40:09therefore with loving kindness have I drawn you.
40:12And so you're right.
40:12Nothing can separate us from the love of God.
40:14We're not under condemnation.
40:16And what a wonderful state of affairs that is to be in
40:21when we recognize the condemnation that God does declare in this passage.
40:28You know,
40:28we don't want to be under the wrath of God.
40:31We don't want to be under the condemnation of God.
40:34We don't want to be separated from the love of God.
40:36Well,
40:36how are we going to avoid all those horrible outcomes?
40:40By humbling ourselves and coming to Jesus and asking him to save us,
40:44redeem us from our sins,
40:46reconcile us to God and present us faultless before his presence by taking
40:51away our sins and by giving us his righteousness and adopting us as his
40:57children.
40:59So Dave,
40:59thanks for that follow up.
41:01Appreciate that.
41:02The net would like to acknowledge Philip K6HSV.
41:05Good morning,
41:05Phil.
41:06Seeing you there for a while on the Utah SDR.
41:09Appreciate you being there with us.
41:11All right.
41:11Any other comments on our passage,
41:13please come down.
41:16This is WB7.
41:26While you're thinking,
41:27I want to comment for a minute on verse two.
41:31You know,
41:31verse one says,
41:32the Lord reigns.
41:33Let the earth rejoice,
41:34but the multitude of the isles be glad.
41:37And then verse two says,
41:38clouds and darkness are round about him.
41:42Righteousness and judgment are the habitation of his throne.
41:49And,
41:49you know,
41:50the point is here is that there's a lot of mystery to God's rule.
41:56When it says clouds and darkness are round about him,
42:00clouds and darkness are things that obscure our sight.
42:03They limit our perception.
42:05They keep us from being able to see and fully understand everything that's going on.
42:11And,
42:11you know,
42:11that's the way it is with God's rule.
42:13Uh,
42:13there's a lot about what he's doing and why he's doing it.
42:16That is obscure to us.
42:19Uh,
42:19we can't see the reason for it.
42:22Uh,
42:22in the mysteries of God's providential dealing,
42:24sometimes puzzle us.
42:26And we say,
42:27why is this or that happening?
42:30Well,
42:30if we could see clearly all the reasons for which God is doing this or that,
42:35we would not be so dismayed by what God allows to occur.
42:40Uh,
42:41but,
42:41um,
42:42it's not God's purpose that we would fully understand,
42:45um,
42:47uh,
42:47why he's doing what he's doing.
42:50Uh,
42:51his purpose is,
42:52is that we would trust him.
42:53And someday the mysteries of God's providence are going to be clear.
42:57But the thing that we need to remember is the last part of verse two,
43:02righteousness and judgment of the habitations of his throne.
43:07So even though we don't understand some of the things he allows or some of the things he does,
43:11one thing we do know is that whatever he allows,
43:14whatever he's doing,
43:15he's doing it in righteousness and with righteousness.
43:19So,
43:19uh,
43:19anyway,
43:20that's,
43:21uh,
43:21something that we can rest in when we don't understand.
43:24We can rest in the character of God,
43:26that the judge of all the earth will do right.
43:30And eventually,
43:31uh,
43:32sin will be punished.
43:33The wicked will be dealt with.
43:35And God's justice will be manifested.
43:38All right.
43:38Any other comments?
43:39Please come now.
43:54Roger had a comment earlier.
43:56Thank you for that.
43:59Roger,
44:00W7BZL.
44:01Please go ahead.
44:04Well,
44:05this may not be,
44:06uh,
44:07uh,
44:07appropriate,
44:08but when you talk about the,
44:11uh,
44:11the power of,
44:13of a holy God,
44:15I'm still pondering the after effects of the,
44:19the giving of the law.
44:21Uh,
44:22uh,
44:22and this is kind of the summary statement,
44:25uh,
44:26that,
44:27you know,
44:27the cross,
44:28the cross really shows the horribleness of sin.
44:34Uh,
44:34that's what it,
44:35that's what it,
44:36it was about three or four reasons for the,
44:39the cross,
44:40big ones,
44:41but to show the ugliness and the,
44:44the power of sin and how it's dealt with.
44:49It's demanded the death of God himself.
44:52And here's the summary statement.
44:55And Moses said to the people,
44:58and by the way,
44:58Jesus is the new Moses to a wonderful extent.
45:05I mean,
45:05he is the intercessor because,
45:08uh,
45:10the,
45:10the people said,
45:12Ben said to,
45:15the people said to Moses,
45:17speak to us yourself,
45:19Moses,
45:20and we will listen,
45:22but let not God speak to us lest we die.
45:28And Moses said to the people,
45:32do not be afraid.
45:35Now,
45:35I,
45:35I was astounded by it.
45:37This is verse 20 of Exodus 20.
45:41Do not be afraid.
45:43That,
45:44that phrase,
45:45it's used 365 times when the appearance of an angel or a godly figure comes to the planet.
45:55Do not be afraid.
45:57For God has come.
45:58In order to test you.
46:02And in the order that the fear of him may remain with you so that you may not sin.
46:12And,
46:13uh,
46:14so,
46:14anyway,
46:15this,
46:15this,
46:15that's why the sanctuary and the blood representing Jesus on the cross was instituted almost immediately in the next chapters or so in 24 about dealing with the sacred remedy for sin.
46:34Yeah,
46:34anyway,
46:35that's kind of,
46:36uh,
46:36kind of the background that I'm seeing in this psalm.
46:40This WB7 of Isidro.
46:41Yeah,
46:44I think you're exactly right.
46:46Uh,
46:46Exodus 19 and 20 are the backgrounds of this psalm.
46:49In that passage,
46:50we see,
46:51uh,
46:52the terrible consequences of sin and a visible representation of the wrath of God.
46:57We also see,
46:59as you well said,
47:00Moses foreshadowing Jesus saying to the people,
47:04don't be afraid.
47:05There's forgiveness.
47:06There's redemption.
47:08But also there's supposed to be reverence.
47:10And that is,
47:11you see the awesomeness of the wrath of God.
47:14And even though you have redemption,
47:17you need to continue to fear God and not sin against him.
47:23And so,
47:24you know,
47:24a lot of people have this attitude of,
47:27oh,
47:27I'm forgiven by Jesus.
47:28I can be careless about sin and I can be irreverent towards God.
47:34And in fact,
47:35what you're saying,
47:36Roger,
47:36and I completely agree is the exact opposite of the truth.
47:40Because I've been forgiven,
47:42I need to have profound reverence for God.
47:46And I need to have a hatred of evil,
47:49of sin,
47:50as KB7 KTY said.
47:52And I need to walk in the paths of obedience and holiness because I'm redeemed.
47:59So I think,
48:00Roger,
48:00what you're bringing out there is such an important background to our psalm.
48:06We have both of these themes of being terrified of the judgment of God.
48:11And verse 12,
48:12rejoicing in the salvation of God.
48:15And as we receive this salvation,
48:19then we have an attitude of profound reverence and a zealous desire for holiness and obedience to the Lord.
48:27And Dave,
48:28AI 7Q2 was bringing that out when he quoted the passage in the Gospel of John.
48:33You know,
48:33if you love me,
48:34keep my commandments.
48:36And so,
48:37yes,
48:37we're in a state of no condemnation.
48:39Yes,
48:40nothing can separate us from the love of God as Dave brought out.
48:43But at the same time,
48:44what that leads us to is an intense desire for worship and an intense desire for obedience.
48:50And so salvation is apart from work,
48:55but salvation produces a desire to do those works of worship and obedience in our lives.
49:01All right,
49:01we are way out of time.
49:03We need to stop here and go to prayer.
49:06Are there any final prayer requests?
49:08Please come down with your call sign.
49:15All right,
49:16now,
49:16KJ7Q2H,
49:18please lead us in prayer.
49:22Well,
49:22thank you,
49:23Pastor Max.
49:23Good morning to everyone.
49:25Put on the bed.
49:25This is KJ7Q2H.
49:28Let's go before the Lord in prayer.
49:30Heavenly Father,
49:31thank you for today and the blessing and the time and your word.
49:35We just pray that all the prayers and praises we bring before you today will be met and bragged according to your will.
49:49Today,
49:49we bring you Dave AI7QQ and offering praise for Noah,
49:55a young man in Dave's prison ministry,
49:59South Saved and attending church.
50:01and also prayers for Noah's continued time in your work and faith.
50:10For Lee,
50:11AL7KG,
50:12we pray for a solution to his truck carburetor issue.
50:16And,
50:16I pray that he's able to connect with Joe in trying to find a solution.
50:22For Roger WB7BCL,
50:27we pray for his friend,
50:29Gary,
50:3080-year-old with a urinary tract infection,
50:33for healing and possible surgery.
50:36That,
50:36they're looking at it would not be necessary.
50:41For AL,
50:42M6MOT,
50:44for healing of his wife,
50:46Tony,
50:46the aneurysm in her abdomen.
50:48That,
50:49that,
50:49that,

58:48All right.
58:49It's 77 in the X-Men Control for the West Coast Bible Study.
58:53I want to thank all the stations who checked in this morning,
58:56as well as those who stood by to give us a clear operating frequency.
59:01We meet here seven days a week at 6 a.m.
59:03in order to read the scriptures,
59:05understand their meaning, message, and application,
59:08and then to pray for grace and mercy,
59:10to be able to live out what we learn,
59:13and for God to meet the needs of those that are in our circle of fellowship.
59:17I'll be returning the frequency now to regular amateur use.
59:20This is WB7MX.
59:22I'll be clear and standing by.
59:30Hey, Max, AK-6.
59:32Okay, I'm talking to you from Coeur d'Alene.
59:34How does it sound?
59:37Jeff, it sounds really good.
59:39I'm listening to you on the Utah SDR.
59:42But, yeah, you're sounding great.
59:44Appreciate that.
59:44So go ahead and talk to me a little more here,
59:46and let's see what we can do for a signal.
59:50Okay.
59:51What I'm doing, I've ordered another Maestro,
59:55and I'm going to have two Maestros sitting side by side of my desk here,
59:59and what will happen is that as we're doing the net,
60:03we'll have two microphones,
60:05and I can talk on one from Coeur d'Alene or one from Sacramento.
60:10So it should be kind of a neat setup.
60:14Yeah, copy that.
60:16I think that's a great idea.
60:18I totally endorse that.
60:20You know, when you're on Coeur d'Alene,
60:21you're not blocking my transmit button,
60:25and I think that's –
60:28I'm not sure why I got dropped out there on the introduction.
60:31I don't know if you actually keyed up or what happened,
60:34but, yeah, I lost my transmit button,
60:36and that's why my voice dropped out.
60:39But right now, yeah, when you're talking on Coeur d'Alene
60:41and I'm talking on Rockland,
60:43we're not interfering with each other.
60:45I got to about five over nine.
60:48So five by five over nine,
60:51a good solid nine all the way through on your transmission here,
60:56and that's picking you up in Rockland on that signal report there.
60:59So anyway, Jeff, I think that's going to work super well.
61:03Go ahead.
61:05Yeah, I think so too, Max.
61:07And, you know, there's a bunch of stuff we could do here.
61:10When you're home, you could use your Aurora,
61:13and you can also have the Maestro running on Coeur d'Alene as well or Rockland 801.
61:20So that if somebody's not hearing you,
61:22you can certainly switch transmitters pretty easy
61:24and have three different locations over.
61:28Yeah, copy that.
61:29I do listen on the Maestro that you gave me to Coeur d'Alene,
61:36and then, of course, I listen to Utah SDR on my laptop
61:41and that I have my regular radio.
61:43So I've got about three ways I can listen to people.
61:48But, yeah, I haven't transmitted yet in Coeur d'Alene
61:50because of the antenna issues that were up there.
61:56But it sounds like you've got those guys fixed.
61:58And so is it okay for me to go ahead and transmit from Coeur d'Alene now?
62:03It sounds like it is.
62:04Over.
62:06Absolutely.
62:07Yeah, you can.
62:08You've got to make sure you tune up first, you know,
62:10when you first bring it up.
62:12I can normally take care of that for you ahead of time.
62:15But, yes, that's what I'm doing right now.
62:17We did find a bunch of problems.
62:19There was a lot of trees that were interfering with the antenna,
62:23and we've got all that trimmed away.
62:25That was about a 60-foot lift for a couple days up there.
62:29And we just chopped down three trees, and we trimmed about six more
62:34and got it completely out of the open now.
62:37Over.
62:37Yeah, copy that.
62:41Yeah, you're hitting me a solid plus 10 on the S meter now.
62:47So I've got your 5 by 9 plus 10.
62:51So, yeah, great signal there.
62:53Everybody sounds like I can hear you just fine.
62:56And the voice quality is great.
62:57So thank you for that additional solution.
63:02Yeah, when I get home, I will get squared away on that, get logged in,
63:07and be ready to transmit on that station.
63:10And, yep, understand about the tuning,
63:12and certainly can take care of that as well.
63:15All right, Jeff, AK6OK, thanks for all your technical help in making this work.
63:20WB7MAX here in New Jersey talking on the Rockland remote,
63:25while Jeff, AK6OK, is in Rockland talking on the Coeur d'Alene remote.
63:30So these flex radios make it possible for us to do all kinds of interesting things
63:34to improve communication irrespective of where we are
63:40and where other people are located.
63:42Carol, KK7TPO, if you are with us,
63:46can you hear Jeff on the Coeur d'Alene transmitter better than you can hear me in Rockland,
63:52or is it about the same?
63:54Go ahead there.
63:58No, it seems to be about the same.
64:04Okay, copy that it's about the same.
64:06So, Carol, do you hear me well, and do you hear Jeff well?
64:11Because you're pretty faint to us,
64:13but I just want to know how your receive is.
64:15Over.
64:29Yeah, Carol.
64:35Okay, Jeff, WB7MAX here, Carol was just below my noise floor.
64:40I can hear her voice.
64:42Jeff, were you able to copy on the Coeur d'Alene?
64:44Go ahead.
64:45Go ahead.
