7:11Yeah, something doesn't sound right. Oh, maybe.
7:15Yeah, I am. I'm not sure what's going on. I've got to check things out here.
7:21Yeah, you're about 5 or 10 over 9, and your voice is a little muffled, so not sure what
7:29that is about. But you're very readable, so no worries, Jeff. If you can fix it, that'd be
7:33great. But if you can't, you're still readable. All right, that's Jeff, AK6OK. Any other check-ins?

8:05Oh, there's Lee, AL7KG. Good morning, Lee. I had to scroll down the black box to see you.
8:11You're hiding out down there in the bottom.
8:15Lee, AL7KG, good to have you with us. Appreciate you being there. And we got you checked in.
8:20Lee's radio broke, and so he's listening to us on the SDR while he's working on getting
8:26that thing fixed. Lee, good to have you with us. All right, any other check-ins? Come now.
8:44All right, it's time for us to get started with the West Coast Bible Study. This is WB7MX,
8:48Net Control. We are in Psalm 114 today. Before we get started with our Bible study, you always
8:54want to ask God for his help and grace and enablement to understand his word, to absorb
9:00it, and to live it out. So in light of that, we're going to ask Ed N6XOH to open a prayer
9:06for us today. Ed, please go ahead.
9:08Sure, let us pray.
9:09Dear Heavenly Father, we just come to you this morning. We ask that you send a blessing
9:15down to us, Lord, as we study your words in this Bible study this morning. We just ask
9:21that you touch each heart here, Lord, that you guide us through this day, that you see
9:27your hand throughout the day as we go about our business, Lord. We know we can't do things
9:33without you. So please, Lord, just send your Holy Spirit to send upon each person here.
9:40Let us ask a special blessing for Pastor Max as he leads out and all the people that participate,
9:46Lord. We just all just thank you for all the blessings that you do for each one of us each
9:53day. Watch over us today. Give us the ones that are traveling, like Roger. Just ask for
10:02traveling mercies for Roger today. Watch over each one of us, Lord. And I ask all these
10:08things, Lord, that you, most of all, that we're all ready when you come to take us home.
10:15I pray in Jesus' name. Amen. N6XOH.
10:20All right, real good, Ed. Thank you for that prayer. I really appreciate that.
10:23Okay, we are in Psalm 114, and before Steve reads, I want to give a little introduction to
10:29the psalm. This psalm, 114, celebrates the invincibility of God. That is, nothing can
10:37stop him. And especially it celebrates his power and dominion over nature. You know, there's
10:44a lot of forces of nature that are greater than we are, and which we are not able to overcome.
10:50But that's not the case with God. Nothing in nature stops him, and he controls all that's
10:55going on in nature. Since he created the material world and all that is in it, and since he established
11:02the laws by which it functions, he is able to order the natural creation to do as he desires,
11:10and it complies with his wishes. Nature has never been an obstacle to God. Instead, nature serves God,
11:19nature submits to God, and nature obeys the decrees and the command of God. So the God who spoke the
11:26creation into existence out of nothing can surely command it to change form and function and behavior
11:34as he sees fit. And so he who created gravity can suspend it at will. He who created rocks can
11:43transform them into water. He who made the earth may cause it to quake whenever he sees fit.
11:51Now, as we read about him doing these things in the Bible, we call them miracles.
11:56But a miracle is nothing more than God deciding to manage the laws and properties of nature differently
12:03than he customarily does. Something he can do whenever he wants, whenever it suits his purposes,
12:11and for however long he desires to achieve his goals. And so God's management of nature is part
12:18of his sovereignty over all things. But he does not change the nature of matter, and he does not
12:24suspend the laws of nature simply on a whim. He does it on very rare and unusual circumstances
12:32when he has a specific and compelling reason for doing so. And the reason is usually some revelation of his
12:41power, some deliverance of his people, or the authentication of his messengers and his Messiah.
12:49And this is the case that we see here in Psalm 114. You know, there were a great many miracles around the
12:57time of Moses in the Exodus out of Egypt that did not take place before that time and did not take
13:03place after that time. But during that time, those kind of miracles in the realm of nature were necessary
13:10to authenticate the identity and the existence of the God of Israel to Pharaoh and to persuade him to let
13:18his people go. And they were also necessary to authenticate Moses as the spokesman for God and as the leader of Israel
13:27so that the Jews would follow his leadership. And of course, they were necessary to fulfill all the promises
13:34God had made to Abraham in the Abrahamic covenant 400 years earlier, that after 400 years, he would bring Israel
13:41out of Egypt and into the promised land. And so Psalm 114 celebrates the miracles of nature that took place
13:48during the Exodus. But Psalm 114 celebrates more than those miracles that celebrates the God who
13:55performed him. And what this psalm does is it calls upon all mankind to tremble before the presence of
14:02God who made nature, who controls nature, and who can change nature to suit his purposes anytime he wishes.
14:11And so God always manages nature for the good of his people. He does so to bring blessing into their lives.
14:17But he can also use nature to bring wrath and judgment on the wicked, as he did with Pharaoh,
14:23as we see him doing with the trumpet judgments and the vile judgments in the book of Revelation.
14:27Therefore, the people of the earth need to tremble before God who can make that earth tremble under their
14:34feet, who can bring the floods in upon him, and who can withdraw their lives from them in a moment.
14:40So he who controls all of nature certainly is in control of we who are part of nature.
14:48And he may order nature to function in our favor or to function as our adversary.
14:55So let us then tremble and fear God who holds all of nature, including our lives, in his hands.
15:02And so Psalm 114 celebrates the control of nature by God during the Exodus in order to bring good
15:10to his people.
15:11All right.
15:11With that introduction, Steve, W6YSI, could you please read for us Psalm 114?
15:21Yeah.
15:22Let us bow before God's inspired and infallible word.
15:27Psalm 114.
15:32When Israel went forth from Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language,
15:40Judah became his sanctuary, Israel his dominion.
15:47The sea looked and fled.
15:51Jordan turned back.
15:55The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs.
16:00What ails you, O sea, that you flee, O Jordan, that you turn back, O mountains, that you skip
16:12like rams, O hills like lambs.
16:16Tremble, O Lord, excuse me, tremble, O earth, for the Lord, for the God of Jacob, turn the rock
16:28into a pool of water, flint into a fountain of water.
16:33Psalm 114, W6YSI.
16:37All right, Steve, great reading.
16:39Thank you for that.
16:41WB7MAX here, Net Control West Coast Bible Study.
16:43All right.
16:43Any comments on our psalm?
16:46Please come now with your call, sir.
16:47The only comment I have, WB7J, is God's amazing.
17:01Tom, he is.
17:02Yes, he is.
17:03God is amazing.
17:05You know, when you look at Genesis 1 and Genesis 2, right, God created the heavens and the earth
17:10out of nothing, you know, people talk about the so-called laws of nature.
17:15The laws of nature are just simply the ordinary way God runs his creation.
17:20And he not only created the creation, he also created the laws by which it functions.
17:25And so he can change those laws any time he sees fit.
17:29Now, thank the Lord, he very rarely does that.
17:32And that's the reason why things like the laws of nature are predictable.
17:36We can always count on gravity working, except when Jesus decides to walk on the water.
17:44And so there are certain predictabilities in nature that are just manifestations of the
17:52faithfulness of God in keeping the orderly nature of the universe functioning without fail.
18:00But we need to understand that these laws of nature do not exist independent of God.
18:06But they are, in fact, expressions of God and his will as to how that creation runs.
18:13And so when he decides that he's going to cause gravity to be suspended or natural events to be reversed
18:23or extraordinary and unusual things to occur at precise providential moments in history,
18:31it just demonstrates that we have a sovereign God.
18:35And the sovereign God is in control of all that happens in nature.
18:39So, Tom, thanks for that expression of praise.
18:42And I couldn't agree with you more.
18:45All right, other comments.
18:46Please come now.
18:47Hi, we've got Mark KJ7PVT.
18:51Mark, go ahead.
18:53Hi, yes.
18:54I'm looking here.
18:56This is another psalm, which begins or concludes with a hallelujah.
19:04And that's in, it starts in 113 and it goes as far as 118.
19:08Where the Egyptian Hallel, these are called the Egyptian Hallel psalms, as you well pointed out.
19:17And I'm always reminded when I look at hallelujah.
19:19I mean, I've been a Christian for a very long time.
19:24And those words that grow on my tongue, too many songs, and sometimes, you know, we forget where that comes from.
19:34And that means that they, I looked it up, and what it is, it's a short and poetic form of Yahweh, Yah, and is preserved in this expression, hallelujah.
19:47So, that's a, that's an interesting thing to keep in mind.
19:53And these psalms were used in the feasts of the Passover, and they call it reverence, hold, and dedication.
20:01So, that means you can have other information about what's going on with the psalms.
20:09And I'll back to you.
20:10That's right.
20:14All right, Mark was pointing out that this psalm was in a group of psalms called the Hallelujah Psalms.
20:19And hallelujah means praise Jehovah.
20:22J-A-H is at the end of the word hallelujah.
20:26And Yah is the name Yahweh.
20:28It's for God.
20:29And so, these are psalms about praise to God, and these were sung at the feasts of Israel, Mark pointed out.
20:36And at tabernacles and the other feasts.
20:42And so, this is, these are psalms of praise.
20:47They're recalling God's mighty works.
20:49They're declaring God's holy character.
20:52And they're declaring the care and the provision he makes for his people.
21:00And so, these are psalms of rejoicing.
21:02These are psalms of praise.
21:04These are psalms of worship.
21:06And so, Mark, KJ7PVT, thank you for pointing that out.
21:11Much appreciated.
21:12All right, other comments on our psalm.
21:14Please come now.
21:18WB7VZL.
21:19Roger, WB7VZL.
21:21Please go ahead.
21:21Well, one thing that has sensitized me is what Autumn came to us with a history of some praise music in her heart.
21:38And one of the most impressionable ones was Water from the Rock.
21:44That's not the formal title, I don't believe, but it's close to it.
21:49In other words, the words highlight this water from the rock.
21:57And she would sing portions of it from her memory of her past.
22:04So, I'd like to probably hear it again.
22:08We haven't got into that subject yet, but it sure has stuck in my mind since she sang a bit of it, which is quite rare.
22:19Go ahead, Max.
22:20Yeah, thank you for that.
22:22Yeah, what Roger's referring to here in Psalm 114, in verse 8, it says,
22:29Which turned the rock into a standing water, and the flint into fountains of waters.
22:34And the point that's being made here is that during the Exodus, God provided everything that was needed to supply what his people needed.
22:45And so, what this is, is a reference to events in Exodus 17 and in Numbers chapter 20.
22:53And what we see in those two chapters is twice in Israel's history, God caused water to flow out of solid rock so as to assuage the thirst of the people of God as they journeyed toward Canaan.
23:07And not only did God provide them with water to drink from the most unlikely source, from out of a solid stone that naturally had no water in it,
23:18He also provided them with manna out of the air.
23:23That was amazing.
23:25The frost would settle, and when it lifted or evaporated, there was the manna.
23:30So, water out of the rock, food out of the air, and of course, we know that also during that time, God caused their clothes and their shoes to last and not wear out for 40 years.
23:43So, in every respect, God's power over nature ensured that he was able to supply his people's needs, irrespective of whether there was any visible means to be able to do so or not.
23:57And so, you know, the children of Israel, as they came out of Egypt, they probably thought to themselves,
24:03How's God going to supply us a table in the middle of the wilderness?
24:07Where's the water going to come from?
24:08Where's the food going to come from?
24:10Where's the clothes going to come from?
24:11God said, I have that covered.
24:13Don't worry about that.
24:14If you're in my will, I will provide for your needs.
24:18And that's exactly what happened.
24:20And, you know, Roger, I also think that this psalm was also written during the time, perhaps, when Israel was returning from Babylon back to the Promised Land.
24:36Remember, they were in captivity in Babylon for 40 years.
24:39Pardon me, for 70 years is what I meant to say.
24:42They were in captivity to Babylon for 70 years.
24:44And here they are making an exodus out of Babylon to, once again, the Promised Land, right?
24:52So there was two exoduses, one from Egypt to the Promised Land, and then one from Babylon to the Promised Land.
24:58Well, they faced a ton of challenges, too.
25:00That's like a 600-mile journey from Babylon back to Israel.
25:05And they needed the God who supplied the needs of Israel in her first exodus to supply the needs of Israel in her second exodus.
25:15And so I think this psalm was probably a great encouragement to those who were making that second exodus from Babylon back to the Promised Land after the 70-year captivity,
25:29that just as God met the needs of the people on the first exodus, he's going to meet the needs on the second exodus as well.
25:35And, you know, we are making an exodus, too, in our spiritual lives, right?
25:40We came out of the kingdom of darkness.
25:42Where are we headed to?
25:44We're headed to the new heavens and the new earth, right?
25:47So we're on this journey through this barren wilderness of this world as strangers and sojourners and pilgrims.
25:54What can we expect?
25:56We can expect that God is going to manage affairs in our lives so that we have water and we have food and we have clothing and we have safe journey to that promised land he's given to us.
26:09So the story of the Bible is a story of exodus, and it's a story of how God meets the needs of his people as they go through this exodus,
26:20either from Egypt or from Babylon or from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light and ultimately all that it requires.
26:28So, yeah, water out of the rock, that's the most unlikely thing.
26:34You know, Roger, I was thinking about how that Jesus put dirt in the eyes of the blind man to heal him.
26:40How unlikely was that to be used to heal the eyes?
26:44And yet God uses the most unusual means to accomplish his purposes in the lives of his people.
26:50And just praise the Lord for that.
26:53So back to you there, Roger, WB70Z.
26:58Thank you so much for enriching that concept for us, Max.
27:02I appreciate the two Babylons.
27:05And, yes, it took a lot of faith for the returning group from Babylon to come to the desolation.
27:12And it wasn't quick, but as they expressed patience and faith and leadership from Nehemiah later on in the Artaxerxes, you know, pattern,
27:28it just took a lot of patience to have God's will unfold for them.
27:35So that would be some of these, you know.
27:37Yeah, amen, Roger.
27:38Even though we can't see how God's going to meet and supply our needs, we need to trust that he can and he will,
27:45even if it means bringing water out of a rock, of all things.
27:47God can fetch resources from the most unlikely of places and from the most unlikely of people
27:54to meet the needs of his people whom he has promised to give their daily bread.
28:00So this is a God that can be trusted.
28:02All right, I have a text message comment from Daryl, WB7AOT.
28:07He says this, great discussion this morning, Max, question.
28:12If God ceased to exist, would the laws of nature also cease to exist?
28:16The answer is yes.
28:18God is the source of all things.
28:20And if he didn't exist, which is, of course, impossible,
28:24then everything that flows out of him would also cease to exist because it says in Hebrews chapter 1,
28:29he upholds all things by the word of his power, right?
28:32And so if he upholds all things by the word of his power, if theoretically he ceased to exist, so would everything else.
28:40So, but of course, he can't cease to exist.
28:43He's from everlasting to everlasting.
28:46The same yesterday, today, and forever.
28:48And because he's immutable, that is, he can't change, he is eternal.
28:54Because going from existence to out of existence would be a change, and God cannot and does not change.
29:01All right, good question there, Daryl, WB7AOT.
29:05All right, any other comments on our passage?
29:07Please come down.
29:08Five Yankee?
29:10Five Yankee, go ahead, Beck.
29:11The name of the tune Meister Research shows is called Flowing Rock.
29:18Okay, Beck says the name of the tune is called Flowing Rock, or the name of the song is Flowing Rock.
29:24So, yeah, that was being mentioned by, I think, Roger, WB7VZL, that Autumn was singing that song.
29:32So, Beck, thanks for that reference.
29:34Much appreciated.
29:35All right, other comments, please come down.
29:40WB7VZL.
29:41Roger, WB7VZL, go ahead.
29:43I should have known.
29:45Thank you, Beck, with your music background and praise music, and that was super, Flowing Rock.
29:52Thank you very much.
29:54No problem, my pleasure.
29:55I'm just doing research on the Internet.
29:58I'm nothing special.
30:02All right, real good.
30:03Roger, thank you for that, and Beck, thank you for that.
30:05All right, any other comments on our song?
30:07Please come down at your call for it.
30:08All right, while you're thinking, I want to make a comment on verse 3.
30:28You know, verse 1 talks about Israel going out of Egypt, and we know about the Exodus.
30:35The very first obstacle they faced when they came out of Egypt was the Red Sea, right?
30:43And that was at the beginning of their journey, and we see that the Red Sea parted, and Israel was able to go across.
30:52And then at the end of their journey, and we see this in the book of Joshua, the first couple chapters there, there was another obstacle, and that was the Jordan River.
31:02And God stopped it up, you recall, when they went across on dry land.
31:07That was during the flood season, by the way.
31:10So, you know, rivers don't run as hard in the summertime, but in the wintertime, they're just a raging torrent.
31:18And so it was a remarkable thing that as soon as the priest bearing the ark stepped into the water, God stopped it and made it a giant heap, and they went across on dry ground.
31:29So, you know, from the start of their journey to the end of their journey, God took care of the obstacles to their journey.
31:39Now, all of you are on a journey through this world.
31:42You have left sin and Satan and the world.
31:47You have repented and followed Jesus as Lord and Savior, and now he's leading you in the narrow way.
31:54Well, there's obstacles in that way.
31:56The world and the flesh and the devil continue to throw roadblocks in your path to try to stop you from following Jesus.
32:04And whether it's a Red Sea or whether it's a Jordan River, we have a God who's able to take care of those obstacles and to help us to be overcomers, as it says time and again in the book of Revelation.
32:15And to be able to make a way through the wilderness and bring us safely to that place that he's promised us, which is the new earth.
32:26So, yeah, from the start of the journey to the end of the journey, God is a God that removes obstacles to the progress of his people and the progress of his kingdom and the accomplishment of his purposes.
32:38So, those obstacles are bigger than we are, but they're not bigger than God, and he's able to do what's necessary to bring his people through.
32:46So, if you're facing something that's bigger than you are, trust God that he would move it or that he would give you the strength to overcome it or to be able to flourish as you're going through it.
32:59All right, WV70MX, Harry, any other comments, please come down.
33:02How about a question?
33:10Beck, Alpha Alpha 5 Yankee, you've got a question. Go ahead.
33:13Yeah, where it says that he turned the rock into a pool of water.
33:17Is that in reference to when the people, I think they were crossing the desert and they had no water, and he took a rock and made water come from it?
33:28Yeah, Beck, that's exactly what it's talking about there.
33:31And so, you read about that in Numbers chapter 20, where Moses spoke to the rock and brought water out, and another time he struck the rock and brought water out.
33:43So, it's a reference to those two events. Over.
33:47Okay, thank you.
33:48Just trying to piece what I kind of remembered back together.
33:51Yeah, copy that.
33:55So, yeah, that happened, I believe, in chapter 17 of Exodus and in chapter 20 of Numbers.
34:05So, if you look at Exodus 17, verses 1 to 7, or you look at Numbers chapter 20, verses 1 to 11,
34:12you'll see that twice God caused water to come out of a rock to meet the needs of Israel for their thirst. Over.
34:19Okay, thank you so much for answering that question. I appreciate it.
34:26Copy that. All right. Any other comments on our passage? Please come now with your call sign.
34:36KG 6J, could I give a New Testament reference?
34:40Please do, Jerry. KG 6J. Go ahead.
34:43So, in Colossians chapter 1, verses 16 to 17, yeah, 16 and 17,
34:54for by him, and this is Paul declaring, by the Holy Spirit, speaking of Jesus,
35:00for by him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth,
35:06visible and invisible, whether it's thrones or dominions or principalities or powers.
35:12All things were created through him and for him.
35:22Yeah, great passage. And by him all things consist, yeah.
35:25So, you know, we have a number of passages in the New Testament that talk about Christ
35:31being actually the member of the Trinity that did the creation.
35:36And you're exactly right.
35:38Here in Colossians chapter 1, verses 15 through 17, it says,
35:44By him, that is by Jesus, were all things created.
35:48And then, of course, we read in John chapter 1,
35:51in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
35:57Same was in the beginning with God.
35:59By him all things were made, and without him was not anything made that was made.
36:04That's John chapter 1, verses 1 to 3.
36:07And then, of course, over in Hebrews chapter 1,
36:10we read the same thing about the creative power of the Lord Jesus
36:15when it says,
36:18He has in these last days spoken to us by his Son,
36:23by whom also he made the world.
36:26And that's Hebrews 1 and verse 2.
36:29So, Jerry, at least three times in the New Testament,
36:33Jesus is explicitly said to be the one who made it all.
36:38And so, when it says that, you know,
36:42that rock that followed them in the wilderness was Christ,
36:46out of whom the water came,
36:49you know, the declaration there is that
36:51Jesus was the one that was bringing the water out of the rock.
36:55And he was the one who was supplying the needs of his people.
36:58He who made the original creation,
37:00continued to manage that creation for the blessing and for the good of his people.
37:06And then, of course, later on in the Gospels,
37:08I think it's John chapter 8,
37:10Jesus says,
37:11I am the water of life.
37:14He who drinks of me will never thirst again.
37:18And so, this idea that Jesus supplies us with the water of life physically,
37:25and also spiritually,
37:27is a prominent theme,
37:29because he's the God who creates and controls every resource,
37:33and therefore, he's the God who's able to meet every single need.
37:38Back to you there, Jerry, KG6J.
37:41Roger.
37:41And thank you so much for that further illumination.
37:45Yes, John chapter 1,
37:47and you listed some great ones.
37:49So, nothing else to add.
37:51Back to you.
37:52Thanks so much.
37:53All right, real good, Jerry.
37:54All right, any other comments on our psalm?
37:56Please come now.
37:57YSI.
37:58YSI.
37:58Please go ahead.
37:59Verse 3,
38:01The sea looked and fled.
38:04In Revelation at the end,
38:06I believe that when Jesus returns,
38:08there's not going to be a sea.
38:15I know there's spiritual thought there.
38:19Can you comment on that, Max?
38:20W6YSI.
38:22Yeah.
38:23That's an interesting connection.
38:25Steve, thank you for making that.
38:26All right, Steve's talking about Psalm 114,
38:29verse 3,
38:30The sea sawed and fled.
38:32And that's, of course,
38:33reference to the Red Sea
38:34when Israel was coming through the Exodus,
38:37and the Red Sea divided,
38:39and the children of Israel
38:40were able to pass over on dry land.
38:43All right?
38:43And then Steve's referring to
38:45Revelation 21,
38:48and verse 1.
38:49In Revelation 21, verse 1,
38:51it says,
38:51And I saw a new heaven and a new earth
38:53for the first heaven
38:54and the first earth were passed away,
38:56and there was no more sea.
38:59And so the question is,
39:00is there a connection here?
39:02Well, we know that the book of Revelation
39:05is written in visual symbolic imagery.
39:09And so a lot of the things that are said here
39:11are meant to be understood symbolically
39:13and not literally.
39:15Of course, the sea literally divided
39:17during the Exodus,
39:19but this passage is talking about
39:21the sea representing
39:23the tumultuous turmoil and chaos
39:28of unsaved humanity.
39:31For example, in Daniel chapter 7,
39:33it says that out of the sea,
39:36the troubled sea arose,
39:38you know, the lion and the bear
39:42and the leopard
39:43and the great tin-horned beast, right?
39:45So the kingdoms of the world
39:47arise out of the sea of humanity.
39:50The Bible says in Isaiah
39:51that the wicked are like the troubled sea
39:53when it cannot rest
39:55that casts up mire and dirt.
39:58And time and again,
39:59the churning unsaved masses of humanity
40:02that are miserable and happy
40:04and that cast up filth and corruption
40:07and destruction and war,
40:10oppression, tyranny,
40:12they're metaphorically referred to as a sea.
40:15So when it says in Revelation
40:17there's no more sea,
40:19what it's saying is that
40:19there's not going to be
40:20any more unsaved humanity
40:23in the new earth
40:24that's casting up mire and dirt
40:26as we see them doing now.
40:29So the sea itself,
40:31the literal sea,
40:33was part of two of the major days
40:35of creation,
40:37the third day and the fifth day,
40:39or I think the sixth day,
40:41as I recall.
40:42And anyway,
40:44you know,
40:44the sea is said to be a source
40:45of God's revelation of himself,
40:48his glory, his praise,
40:49and the creatures in the sea
40:51are said to offer worship to God.
40:53So when you look at the new earth,
40:56I don't think God's going to abandon
40:58an entire category of his creative work
41:01that he did initially
41:02in restoring the creation.
41:05But I think this is a reference
41:07to the unsaved masses of humanity.
41:10Back to you there, Steve, W6YSI.
41:12Go ahead.
41:13Yeah, one word, hallelujah.
41:16It's going to be a whole different world
41:19whenever Jesus comes.
41:21It's W6YSI.
41:23Yeah, at this stage,
41:24all the wicked are cast
41:25into the lake of fire,
41:26and the only people
41:27that are in the new earth
41:28are not only sate people,
41:30but glorified people.
41:31That is, people who are morally perfected
41:34into the image of Christ.
41:36And so, therefore,
41:38there's going to be perfect peace
41:39and unity and harmony
41:40among all people,
41:41and there won't be any people there
41:44that are unsaved
41:45to disturb that peace
41:46and harmony and unity.
41:48All right, WB7MX here.
41:50We are looking at Psalm 114.
41:52Any more comments on Psalm 114?
41:55Please come down with your call sign.
42:05All right, well, while you're thinking,
42:09you know, the author of Psalm 114
42:12uses what we call poetic license, okay?
42:16And he talks here about the sea
42:20and the Jordan River
42:22and the mountains
42:22as though they are people.
42:24And he talks to them.
42:26And he asks them questions, right?
42:29Verse 5,
42:30What ail be, O sea,
42:32that thou fleddest,
42:33thou Jordan,
42:34that thou wast driven back,
42:35you mountains that skip like rams,
42:37and you little hills like lambs.
42:40And so what he's doing here
42:42is he's using poetic language
42:44to describe actual events
42:47that did take place.
42:49Of course, the Red Sea divided,
42:50the Jordan River stopped.
42:52And then you recall in the Exodus
42:54when they came to Mount Sinai
42:58that God met them there
43:00and made the Old Covenant
43:01in Exodus chapter 19.
43:03Well, the mountain there,
43:05it says in Exodus 19 and 20,
43:07was like there was a massive earthquake,
43:09there was thunder,
43:10there was lightning,
43:11the mountains were shaking
43:13as a manifestation of the presence
43:16and the power of God.
43:18And so that's what's being referred to here
43:21is that God not only removed obstacles
43:24to the Exodus,
43:26God also made a covenant
43:27with his people at Mount Sinai.
43:29And in that covenant,
43:30he promised to be their God
43:32and to care for them
43:33and to provide for them.
43:34He also put obligations on them
43:36that they were supposed to obey
43:39and follow his law
43:40and then they would be his special people.
43:42So, you know,
43:43the idea here is that
43:46we are not only people
43:50who can expect God to meet our needs,
43:53but we're also a people
43:54who can expect and trust God
43:56to keep his covenant promises.
43:58And that's the idea
43:59of the mountain skipping like rams.
44:01It's a reference to the event
44:03in Exodus 19 and 20.
44:06So, anyway,
44:10he personifies
44:12these physical objects
44:15of a sea and a river
44:17and mountains
44:18and he talks to them.
44:20And so that's what's going on here.
44:21And so the language he uses
44:25to describe these things
44:27is poetic language,
44:29but we understand the reality
44:30that stands behind
44:31that poetic language.
44:33This is the dividing of the Red Sea.
44:34This is the stopping up
44:35of the Jordan River.
44:36This is God making a covenant
44:38with his people at Mount Sinai.
44:40And this is God bringing water
44:42out of the rock during the Exodus.
44:44All right.
44:45Any other comments on Psalm 114?
44:47Please come now.
44:47All right.
45:01We're out of time.
45:02It's time for us to go to prayer.
45:04We generally stop our discussion
45:05at about 640.
45:07All right.
45:08Are there any final prayer requests
45:10before we go to prayer?
45:11Please come now
45:11with your call sign.
45:12All right.
45:12All right.
45:12All right.
45:17Well, hearing nothing,
45:22let's go to prayer.
45:24Our Father, we thank you
45:25for the way that you have
45:27in recorded history
45:29demonstrated to us
45:31the way that you care
45:32for your people,
45:33both in their exodus
45:35out of Egypt,
45:36in their exodus
45:37out of Babylon,
45:39and in our exodus
45:40out of the kingdom of darkness
45:42and into the kingdom of light,
45:43and then ultimately
45:44to our promised land,
45:46in the new heavens
45:47and the new earth.
45:49Father, we thank you
45:50that along the way
45:51you exercise your power
45:53to remove obstacles
45:55in your people's path.
45:57You exercise your faithfulness
45:59in keeping your covenant promises,
46:01and you exercise your faithfulness
46:04in bringing the meeting
46:05of our needs
46:06out of the most unlikely
46:07of sources,
46:09things like manna
46:11out of the air
46:11and water out of the rock.
46:13Father, how many times
46:14we have seen you
46:15meet our needs
46:16in ways that we
46:17never expected.
46:20Lord, we want to praise
46:21and glorify you
46:22for that.
46:24And so, Lord,
46:25we just thank you
46:27that we are your sanctuary.
46:30You dwell in us
46:31and that you are dominion.
46:34You rule over us,
46:35as it says there
46:36in verse 2.
46:37And so, Lord,
46:39be pleased
46:40to dwell in our hearts
46:41and to give us
46:43guidance and wisdom
46:45and be pleased
46:47to rule over our lives
46:48for our protection,
46:50for our guidance,
46:51and to keep us, Father,
46:53in that narrow way
46:54that does lead
46:55to that promised land
46:56that you have committed
46:58to providing for us
47:00in the Abrahamic covenant
47:03and ultimately
47:04in and through
47:05the new covenant.
47:06And now, Lord,
47:08we have some needs
47:08we need you to meet.
47:11And, Father,
47:11we just ask
47:12that you would be pleased
47:13to be with Roger,
47:14WB7BCO,
47:16as he travels
47:17to and from
47:19Coville, Washington
47:20to work on the plumbing
47:21at the houses
47:22there today.
47:23And, Lord,
47:24I pray that his car
47:24would get fixed right
47:25as well
47:26as he takes it
47:26to the dealer.
47:28Lord,
47:28we want to pray
47:29for Keith,
47:29K7NEB.
47:31Thank you
47:31that you watched
47:32over him
47:33during his camping trip.
47:34Thank you
47:35that he's home safe
47:36and that he's with us
47:37once again.
47:39Father,
47:40thank you also
47:40for Jim N7BKE
47:42that his cold
47:43is getting better.
47:45Lord,
47:45we just know
47:46how fragile
47:47Jim's lungs are.
47:49And, Lord,
47:50we just want to thank you
47:51for bringing him
47:51through this
47:53respiratory illness
47:55that he was having.
47:56Lord,
47:57we just want to pray
47:58for all of those
48:00affected by the
48:01tragic school shooting
48:02at Silver Rail Elementary
48:04School in Dend,
48:05our own state here,
48:06my own state.
48:08And, Lord,
48:09we just ask
48:09that you would be
48:10pleased to bring
48:11peace and comfort
48:12to the hearts
48:13of those who lost
48:14their kids.
48:16And, Lord,
48:16we thank you
48:17that this evil
48:18was brought to an end.
48:20And, Lord,
48:20we just pray
48:21that whatever
48:23the source of this is
48:24would be discovered
48:27and dealt with.
48:28Lord,
48:29we just are
48:30just brokenhearted
48:32that someone
48:33would make a choice
48:34like this
48:35to end the lives
48:36of innocent children
48:37without any rationale
48:39or reason.
48:41Thank you, Father,
48:42that these kind of events
48:43are never going to happen
48:44again in the New Earth.
48:46Lord,
48:47we just want to pray
48:48for Charles
48:49N7DEN.
48:51Lord,
48:52he lost his son
48:53Trevor to cancer.
48:54We prayed for Trevor
48:55a lot.
48:57But, Lord,
48:57it was your will
48:58to take him home
48:59to be with yourself.
49:01To be absent
49:02from the body
49:03is to be present
49:03with the Lord.
49:04And we thank you,
49:05Father,
49:05that he is.
49:07And, Lord,
49:08we just pray
49:08for peace
49:09and comfort
49:10for his family.
49:12Lord,
49:12we just ask
49:13that they would not
49:15sorrow as those
49:16who have no hope,
49:17but that they would
49:18look forward
49:19to the resurrection
49:20and the reuniting
49:21of themselves
49:23with Trevor
49:23in heaven.
49:24Thank you for his life,
49:25for his military service,
49:27for his service
49:28as a police officer.
49:30And, Lord,
49:31we just pray
49:32that to the legacy
49:32he left behind,
49:34Lord,
49:35would be used by you
49:36to bring blessing
49:37into the lives
49:38of others.
49:40Father,
49:40we just want to pray
49:41today for Ted KK70QQ.
49:45His sister,
49:45Pamela,
49:46is suffering
49:47from respiratory
49:48illnesses
49:49and digestive
49:50problems.
49:51Lord,
49:52be pleased
49:52to meet her need
49:53and help her
49:54to find a remedy
49:55for whatever
49:56is causing
49:56those issues
49:57and bring healing
49:59there.
50:00Father,
50:00we just want
50:01to continue
50:01to lift up
50:02that little baby
50:03Juliana
50:04that Carol KK70Q
50:05asked us to pray for
50:07who was born
50:08premature
50:08at 23 weeks.
50:11Lord,
50:11just keep
